The Water Filtration Plant has a Pilot Plant for research.  The pilot plant consists of two miniature replicas of our treatment plant.  When evaluating new technology or chemical treatments, one replica is operated as we currently treat water and the other is operated with the new method.  Water produced from each replica is then analyzed to determine if the new procedure is beneficial for our community.

 The Evansville Water Filtration Plant is currently conducting research for an AWWARF project on a new test method for bacteriological analyses and an ORSANCO project on Nonylphenol and Atrazine.
