Laboratory Division
The Laboratory Division provides diagnostic testing services for health department programs for treatment and/or prevention of:
- Sexually transmitted pathogens: Neisseria gonorrhoeae, Chlamydia trachomatis, and syphilis. (STD Clinic)
- Bacterial vaginosis, yeast, Trichomonas vaginalis, and nongonococcal urethritis (NGU). (STD Clinic)
- Lead poisoning in children under the age of 6 years. Click here for more information.

To the general public the laboratory offers bacteriological analysis of water from swimming pools, recreational lakes, and private wells. We do NOT test city water. A $20.00 fee is charged. Cash or check only, no debit or credit cards.
Sample collection bottles and instructions can be picked up at the Laboratory, on the 2nd floor of the Health Department, Monday through Friday 8:00 am – 12:00 pm, 12:30 pm – 4:00 pm. Only samples collected in Health Department issued bottles will be accepted for analysis.
