Pay Our New Drop

Box A Visit!

In a hurry to pay your taxes at the Civic Center, but don't want to fuss with parking orZack dropbox waiting in line?

We now have the perfect solution for you!  Treasurer Rick Davis joined organized labor on Tuesday, June 2, unveiling a new stainless steel drop box for taxpayers to use 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year!  T

The drop box, valued at $3,500, was a gift from organized labor and did not cost taxpayers a single penny!  The drop box was the work of the Joint Apprenticeship Training Committee, Sheet Metal Workers Local 20, and Cement Masons Local 692.  Sheet Metal Apprentice Jeff Knight performed most of the work on the drop box as part of his training, said Mark Riley, Business Representative for  Sheet Metal Workers Local 20.  Labor, materials, and tools to build or install the drop box were also donated by U.S. Industries, Evansville Sheet Metal, and Industrial Contractors.

This drop box will be an invaluable tool for the Treasurer's Office, Drop boxenabling our small staff to wait on customers who have serious questions concerning their taxes.  As an added bonus, the Treasurer's Office will accept payments at the drop box until midnight on May 10, when the spring deadline ends, as well as on Nov. 10, the fall deadline for property tax payments.

In the photo at top right, Zack Stewart, an apprentice with the Sheet Metal Workers Local 20, applies some finishing touches on the new drop box.
