Duties:

Directs, supervises, and evaluates the Water Quality section which is composed of the Water Quality Laboratory and staff. Responsible for the proper collection and analysis of water samples, recording results, and maintaining records in compliance with local, state, and federal laws. Communicates analytical results and data to the Water Production Manager and the Water Superintendent. Maintains and updates the QA/QC Lab Program. Prepares and submits reports to compliance-monitoring government agencies. Prepares budget estimates and controls expenditures. Communicates with customers, clients, or the public by telephone or in meetings. Directs or conducts special water quality studies related to the operations of Water Production. Reports to the Water Superintendent.

Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science or technical degree in civil, environmental, or chemical engineering, biology, chemistry, business or public administration or a related field is preferred. Five (5) years of administrative and technical experience related to drinking water facility operation and laboratory analysis and interpretation with at least two (2) years of supervisory experience. Knowledge of local, state, and federal water compliance rules. Strong leadership, supervisory, delegating, and communication skills. Any combination of training, education and experience that provides the knowledge skills and ability to perform the functions of this position will be considered.
