The Street Division strives to ensure that the street system in the City of Evansville is properly maintained. We seek to render cost effective and competent service to the citizens of Evansville, striving to be responsive to the citizen’s request and concerns and handling them in a timely manner. Major functions of the department include: maintaining public roads, snow removal, minor street resurfacing, mowing public rights- of- ways, grading and re-rocking alleys and shoulders, drainage and storm sewer repair/replacement, flushing and vacuuming city storm inlets, maintaining Dress Plaza and Main Street, guardrail repair/replacement, installing Americans with Disabilities (ADA) ramps and the repair/replacement of curbs and sidewalks under 25 feet.
