The Drug and Alcohol Deferral Service (D.A.D.S.) is a Court Program under the Vanderburgh County Superior Court, and is a County Department. This program is supported by client fees, which are collected by the County Clerk and go into the County General Fund from which all the county departments budgets are funded.
There are three components to the D.A.D.S. program:
- O.M.V.W.I. (Operating a Motor Vehicle While Intoxicated)
- Youth Alcohol
- V.C.S.A (Violation of the Controlled Substance Act)
These types of programs are allowed by Indiana Statute to provide early intervention and education to first offenders only. The role of this office is to screen, assess, refer for appropriate services, and monitor each case for the Court. The primary concern is that the offenders remain alcohol and drug free.
